Cameron Green IND vs AUS 2023

Cameron Green IND vs AUS: It is another big blow for the visiting Australian side as their premier all-rounder Cameron Green is not fit for the ongoing second Test match against India being hosted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Australia did not had the best of starts in this India tour as they lost the opening Test match by an innings and 132 runs margin in Nagpur. The visitors will now be eyeing to make a strong comeback by winning the second Test match and levelling the four-match Test series in this Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

During the toss, Australia skipper Pat Cummins revealed that Cameron Green is yet to recover completely from his finger injury and thus, he was unavailable for selection in this second Test match against India. Green suffered a heartening finger injury during the Boxing Day Test match against South Africa and the same injury kept him out of the Australia playing 11 in the opening game against India. The all-rounder ended up claiming his maiden five-wicket haul during the last Test series against South Africa at home and also scored a fighting half-century with the bat while battling a lot of pain on his fractured finger.

Green has scored a total of 806 runs and taken as many as 23 wickets from 28 Test matches so far. Mitchell Starc and Green’s injuries have forced Australia to play just a single pacer in captain Pat Cummins with three spinners, Matthew Kuhnemann, Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy in this second Test against India.

“We’ll bat first. The middle looks like there’s grass but bare at both ends. Plenty of turn there, will be a good Test. Cam Green and Mitch Starc aren’t playing, but we’ve got Travis Head coming in for Renshaw, and Matthew Kuhnemann makes his debut,” said Australia captain Pat Cummins during the toss.
