After two successive chartbuster editions, the women’s Hundred is set to resume in 2023 too. The tournament will commence on August 1 in Nottingham. The 2022 finalists Southern Brave Women will kick off the contest with an opening clash against Trent Rockets. The game will be hosted by the Trent Bridge.
Besides, the Eliminator game of the Hundred 2023 will be played on August 26 at the Oval, London, and the final will be played on August 27 at the Lord’s, the home of cricket.
Talking about the squads for the Hundred 2023, February 16 was the Deadline Day for the teams to confirm their retentions for the forthcoming season. The women’s teams can retain four of their players. The women’s competition is hosting a draft system for the first time, with Welsh Fire the first team to choose. The ultimate list for the Hundred 2023 draft will have to be settled on February 28.
Moreover, the squads can have a maximum of 15 players. Out of them, there can be only three overseas players and three contracted players by the ECB.
Talking about the vital overseas retentions, Ellyse Perry, Amelia Kerr, Deandra Dottin, Alyssa Healy, Marizanne Kapp, Smriti Mandhana, Alana King, and Hayley Matthews are a few names.
