South Africa vs England: England maybe current World Champions but there form lately has been abysmal. They have lost five on the bounce and are staring down another series whitewash. South Africa, on the other hand, have brought their A-game in this series with every member contributing in their two wins so far. Bavuma mentioned in the last game that they want to challenge themselves and we feel they might tinker with the playing 11 once again. Here are three changes they could make:
1. Reeza Hendricks in place of Heinrich Klaasen
Hendricks is specialist opener who can also bat at no.3. He is part of an elite list of players who have scored a hundred on debut. Since then he has scored 4 half-centuries in 25 games. He can come into the side in and push van der Dussen and Markram down the order. Klaasen has chipped in with 57 runs in the two games so far. But with David Miller in hot form and Marco Jansen also coming to the party, the Proteas can do without Klassen’s services.
2. Kagiso Rabada in place of Anrich NortjeĀ
Judging by the rotation policy South Africans are employing, we feel Nortje is due a rest in the third game. Kagiso Rabada could get straight back into the side in his place. Rabada had taken two crucial wickets in the first encounter.
3. Sisanda Magala in place of Wayne ParnellĀ
There is no denying Wayne Parnell has bowled well in this series. He has been Sout Africa’s most economical bowler. But he has just one wicket in two games to show for. On the other hand, Sisanda Magala is still a bit of an unknown entity, making a return after 2021 to the side. Magala was Player of the Match in the first game for his three vital wickets which initiated a batting collapse.
