India and New Zealand are all set to lock horns with each other in the white-ball series. The ODI series between the teams will kick start from 18th January in Hyderabad whereas the second and third game will be played on 21st and 24th January in Raipur and Indore respectively.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will no doubt open the innings for the team. However, there will be lot of speculations about who will be his opening partner. But it is expected that Shubman Gill will be batting at the top of the order. The duo did a decent job in the series against Sri Lanka.

There’s no brainer that Virat Kohli will bat at No.3 for his team and will play a crucial role against the No.1 ODI side in the series. With KL Rahul not being there, Ishan Kishan is likely to get the opportunity but it is expected that he will bat in the middle.

Kishan is likely to bat at No.4 with Shreyas Iyer being shifted to No.5. Hardik Pandya will play a crucial role with both bat and ball at No.6. He will be followed by Washington Sundar, who is likely to play in the team in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

With Shardul Thakur being back in the side, it is likely that he will walk straight into the playing XI. He is expected to play ahead of Umran Malik as his ability with the bat will be handy for India. Kuldeep Yadav will be the leg spinner in the team with Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj being the pacers.
