The three-match T20I series has already been sealed by India. They displayed a staggering performance in the first two games and made sure that they kick-start the World Cup year on high. They would now want to give opportunities to young players to test their bench strength. With series in the bag, it’ll be a golden opportunity for them to rotate the players and give others the chance, considering the World Cup. Let’s take a look at 3 Changes India can make for IND vs SL 3rd ODI
1. Suryakumar Yadav in place of Shreyas Iyer
There’s no doubt that Shreyas Iyer has sealed the No.4 spot in the ODI team because of his performances of late in the format. He single-handedly has bailed India out of trouble. But he didn’t get going in the first two ODIs. With a hectic schedule ahead, the team can look to give Suryakumar Yadav a chance. The batter has been in staggering form and recently scored a century in the third T20I form. The team would want to give him a break in ODIs as well. Therefore he can be on the cards for the third game.
2. Arshdeep Singh in place of Mohammad Shami
Mohammad Shami made a return to the Indian side after recovering from the injury. However, his comeback wasn’t as he would’ve liked. The pacer looked out of sorts and struggled with his line and lengths. He conceded 67 runs in 9 overs and managed just 1 wicket in the first game. He looked in decent touch in the second game but yet again failed to take the wickets. Therefore the team can look to rest him and play Arshdeep Singh in the second game. The Punjab pacer being a left-arm and death specialist can be a good handy inclusion for India in the second game. Also, Arshdeep has made himself a name with his sensational performances and therefore it’ll be difficult for India to bench him.
3. Washington Sundar in place of Axar Patel
Washington Sundar could well be in line for the second game. The all-rounder has been unlucky to sit on the bench. He has been performing well but due to team combination, he has failed to make the cut in the team. But he can replace Axar Patel in the upcoming game. The Gujarat all-rounder of late has done decently well with both bat as well as the ball and with a hectic schedule ahead, the team can look to rest him and include Sundar in the team. The young all-rounder has been exceptional in the games he has played and therefore it’s likely that he can be there for the third game.
