IPL 2023 Auction: The list of players for the IPL 2023 auction has been released. A total of 405 players, including 132 overseas, will be auctioned off. The IPL 2023 auction will begin at 2.30 p.m. IST on December 23, 2022, in Kochi. Overseas players from Afghanistan (8), Australia (21), Bangladesh (4), England (27), Ireland (4), Namibia (2), the Netherlands (1), New Zealand (10), South Africa (22), Sri Lanka (10), the UAE (1), West Indies (20), and Zimbabwe (2) will be represented in the 132-player list of international cricketers. Who among these 132 internationals will fetch the highest amount at the auction? Below areĀ our predicted 5.
1. Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Rossouw of South Africa, who has had an excellent year with the bat, would be up for grabs at the auction. The 33-year-old played for RCB from 2014 to 2015, but after that, he was without a team and participated in every other major league in the world. In 2022, Rossouw made a comeback to play for the Proteas, and he has been crucial to their success. In the eleven games he participated in in 2022, he scored 372 runs, including two hundreds, averaging 46.50. In the ICC T20 World Cup, Rossouw defeated Bangladesh with a century and set two records. He became the first player from a full-member squad to notch two consecutive hundreds in T20Is and the first Protean to reach a century in the T20 World Cup.
2. Jason Holder
Another player who has the potential to become the most expensive player ever in the 2023 auction is Jason Holder. The Lucknow Super Giants released the West Indies all-rounder after his first season with the franchise. Last year, he performed admirably. Towering all-arounder Holder has a significant advantage with both the bat and the ball. Therefore, he could fetch a high price at the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
