The lessons of leadership
The Prince of Kolkata was the leader of the pack consisting the icons like Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Dada explained why a skipper has to relieve pressure from the unit because it can affect their performance on the field. “A captain cannot always say ‘My way or the highway’. Pressure is a must, but make sure it won’t crack you out of the box”. You have to allow freedom to the players knowing the fact that it can be a make or break moment.
what made him so special?
A great leader has to work like an alchemist who can get the extraordinary results out from an ordinary pack. In short, Ganguly Dada thinks a leader needs to earn the respect of the unit first then make them free to flaunt their skills by backing them off the field which will eventually give a better result, but a little bit of control is crucial. It is not just a fact that how Sourav Ganguly became one of the most loved cricketers in India? Experts think he changed the DNA of the Indian cricket and made them accustomed for a win, not a draw.
