Shakib Al Hasan Injury: In a massive breaking news development, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan is doubtful for the upcoming BAN vs IND 2022 1st Test scheduled to start from 14 December, 2022 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The Bangladeshi team is set to host India for a short two-match Test series which will be part of the World Test Championship 2022-23 cycle.

Hosts Bangladesh are currently stressing on the availability of their skipper Shakib Al Hasan for the upcoming Bangladesh vs India 1st Test starting from Wednesday. Shakib got hit on his ribs multiple times by Umran Malik during the recently concluded three-match ODI series against India. The senior all-rounder went for a scan in Dhaka, however, nothing serious was found in that. He had a practice session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium ahead of the IND vs BAN 1st Test and head coach Russell Domingo also stated that a final call on Shakib’s availability will be taken just before the game.
In case of the regular skipper’s unavailability, one of Mominul Haque or Liton Das is likely to be named as the stand-in captain for the first Test match against India.
“It is nothing serious, and since there was no other transportation available, he was sent in an ambulance. He (Shakib) had some stiffness and he went for a checkup,” a BCB official told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.
“Look we are still assessing him and we would make a call later on this afternoon to make sure he is okay. He is still struggling with his ribs and shoulders a little bit. Hopefully, he can go on hitting some balls and go see how he is doing this afternoon,” Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo told reporters at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Tuesday.
