England are on a mission and literally the talk of the cricketing world after their impressive win over Pakistan in the first of the 3 match test series in Pakistan. They are faced with an injury setback for the 2nd game but their fast bowling attack just got better with this fast bowler returning to the playing 11.
PAK vs ENG: Mark Wood returns to the team
England are playing a brand of cricket in tests that no one ever imagined in cricket history. There has been several instances of teams adopting the counter attacking approach in phases in a test but to do that over the entire course of five days in a test has been quite stunning. They rattled Pakistan in the first test by batting them out of the game on one of the flattest of tracks in cricket history.
What’s even more impressive was their accurate plans with the ball to take 20 Pakistan wickets on a wicket that literally had zero help for the bowlers until the ball reversed when it lost its shine. They are already a force in white ball and with this approach and consistent positive results in red ball, they are towards world dominance although it’s a bit too early when it comes to tests.
Liam Livingstone made his debut in the first test but got injured and is ruled out of the series. England will be welcoming the tearaway quick Mark Wood into the playing 11 which makes their bowling attack a more potent one with an extra dimension to it. Mark Wood will be completing a 4 men pace attack along with Ben Stokes. They also have Jack Leach and Will Jacks in spin department. Pakistan need to win all their remaining games to qualify for the finals of the WTC. It is going to be a difficult task for them.
