South Australia vs Queensland Bulls, Qualifying Final 01
After weeks of pulsating action between bat and ball, Brobdingnagian scores, tense finishes, and edge-of-a-seat action, we are finally down to the business end of the tournament.
The top two sides in Western Australia and Tasmania have already qualified for the semi-finals and they await the winners of the two qualifying final which are scheduled to be held between the bottom four sides of the group stage.
The first Qualifying final will see third-placed South Australia (9 points) lock horns with the bottom-placed Queensland Bulls (5 points) at North Oval Sydney on Wednesday.
Where:- North Oval, Sydney
Match Timing:-Wednesday, October 03, 2018, 08:30 AM IST
The winner of the match will play Western Australia in the first semi-final on Saturday, October 06, 2018.
South Australia won just two games out of five in the group stage and they shrugged off their run of three defeats in a row with an eight-run win over Victoria after their bowlers scripted a sensational collapse after Peter Handscomb and Cameron White had put on a 126-run stand for the third wicket.
Joe Mennie (3-38) started the collapse when he knocked over Peter Handscomb for 64 before Luke Robbins had Cameron White short of the crease. Adam Zampa (3-58), then, initiated a scintillating collapse to bowl Victoria out for 252- 8 runs adrift of the target.
They’ll face Queensland Bulls, who come into this encounter on the back of a six-wicket loss at the hands of New South Wales despite a swashbuckling 135 off 113 balls by Chris Lynn. They came in way of a rampaging Jack Edwards (116) and Moises Henriques’ run-a-ball 134 to overhaul their target of 297 in 45.4 overs.
