It was a yet another staggering performance by the hosts as they made opposition look ordinary and displayed sensational performance with both bat as well ball but the rain once again played spoilsport and washed out the game.

The third ODI between New Zealand and India took place in Christchurch. The Kane Williamson-led side won the toss and put visitors into bat first. It was a disappointing start for Team India as they lost both openers Shubman Gill (13) and Shikhar Dhawan (28) early.But after that they got going and lost wickets in quick succession to find themselves tumbling at 121/5.
Shreyas Iyer continued his golden touch and smashed 49 runs, that give boost to Indian innings. Washington Sundar then played a fine hand with the bat, scoring 51 runs to power India’s total to 219 runs. For New Zealand it was Daryl Mitchell, who was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 3/25.
Chasing the target New Zealand went off the flyer as Finn Allen (57) and Devon Conway () stitched 97 runs for the opening partnership. Umran Malik provided the breakthrough but after that rain played the spoilsport and halted the game. It was in the end rain’s game as it yet again washed out the match with New Zealand clinching the series 1-0.

The all-rounder played an exceptional role with the and cliched three crucial wickets, which dented their chances of posting high total on the board. He removed Rishabh Pant, Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh to return with the figures of 3-25 and helped his side bundle out the opposition for just 219 runs.
