Dawid Malan ENG vs PAK: In an important news update, England’s key batsman Dawid Malan in the T20I format during the recent few years, was not available for selection in this crucial final encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan scheduled to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. The England team will definitely be feeling very much high on confidence after their superlative 10-wicket win against India in the last semi-final encounter of this tournament.
ENG vs PAK: Why is Dawid Malan Not Playing Today’s England vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 Final Match?
After winning yet another important toss and opting to bowl first, England skipper Jos Buttler revealed that they are going ahead with an unchanged playing combination from the last match against India. Unfortunately, Dawid Malan who has performed really well in T20I cricket over the last few years in crucial situations, is out due to a groin injury which he sustained during the group stage game against Sri Lanka and did not play the match against India as well. England have included Philip Salt in the playing 11 who has scored 235 runs at a phenomenal strike-rate of over 160.
“We are going to bowl first. Huge game, good nerves and there’s a lot of good energy around the team. Great energy in the stadium and we are looking forward to a great game. Both teams come into this final in red hot form and we are looking forward to a tough challenge. I think it is a good wicket and hopefully it will stay the same throughout. Obviously there’s a little bit of weather around which is why we chose to bowl. We start fresh today, we bring confidence from the other day but we know it counts for nothing today. Same team,” said England captain Jos Buttler during the toss.
