Dinesh Karthik IND vs ENG: In a crucial news development, India have once again not included senior wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik in their playing XI for the important semi-final game against England in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. India have surely been at the top of their game in the ongoing T20 tournament where they managed to win 4 out of their 5 matches including the incredible victories over Pakistan and Bangladesh.
IND vs ENG: Why is Dinesh Karthik Not Playing Today’s India vs England T20 World Cup 2022 Match? Who is India Wicket Keeper?
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that they are playing with an unchanged combination from the last game against Zimbabwe. This also means that Dinesh Karthik will still be warming the bench and Rishabh Pant is playing as the wicket-keeper batsman. During the first four matches of this ICC T20 World Cup 2022, India went in with Karthik as their wicket-keeper batsman but the right-hander failed to contribute much with the bat and gloves in the games against South Africa and Bangladesh. In the previous match against Zimbabwe, Pant also got out after scoring just 3 runs as Ryan Burl took a spectacular catch.
“We would have batted first anyway. We’ve played some good cricket, another opportunity for us to play the same way we have all tournament. Important to hold the nerve and take the game till the end. We’ve played these guys a fair bit in recent years and know what strengths-weaknesses they have. Important to exploit that. Important to stay calm and do what we want to do. It (injury) was a scare but I’m fine now. The kind of talent we have, it was a tough one (to pick the XI). Same team for us,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
