Axar Patel IND vs SA: In a massive breaking news development, India’s premier left-arm spinner Axar Patel is not playing their crucial ICC T20 World Cup 2022 match against South Africa scheduled to be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. India will definitely be feeling very much high on confidence in the ongoing edition of the mega event after having picked up two amazing back-to-back wins against Netherlands and Pakistan.
IND vs SA: Why is Axar Patel Not Playing Today’s India vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2022 Match?
After winning his third toss in a row and opting to bat first, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that they have made just a single change to their playing XI from the last game and that is left-arm spinner Axar Patel misses out while Deepak Hooda is playing today against South Africa. While considering the helpful conditions for the pace bowlers in Perth and looking at the South African bowling attack, the Indian team management has decided to strengthen their batting line-up with the inclusion of Hooda who can also contribute with a few overs. On the other hand, Axar bowled well against Netherlands where he finished with two wickets.
“We will bat. It’s a good surface, we know what to expect and what to do on this pitch. We had a camp across at the WACA, helped us get used to the bounce for both batters and the bowlers. But this is an important game from where the tournament is, we just have to follow the routine and trust the process, just stay calm and execute the plans. One change – Axar misses out, Hooda is in,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
