Fakhar Zaman PAK vs ZIM: In a big news development, Pakistan’s premier batsman Fakhar Zaman is still not part of the playing XI in their second game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against Zimbabwe at the Perth Stadium in Perth. Pakistan did not witness the best of fortunes during their previous encounter of the T20 tournament as they ended up conceding a heartening 4-wicket defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India.
PAK vs ZIM: Why is Fakhar Zaman Not Playing Today’s Pakistan vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup 2022 Match?
After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, Pakistan captain Babar Azam stated that Fakhar Zaman is still not playing this match against Zimbabwe. Fakhar might not be fully fit as he is still recovering from a knee injury after he was a late inclusion in the Pakistan 15-member squad for this ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in place of leg-spinner Usman Qadir. For Pakistan, the positive news from the last match were the impressive performances from the middle-order duo of Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood who scored brilliant half-centuries each. After a poor show against India, Asif Ali has been dropped from the playing 11 in place of fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jr.
“Would’ve bowled first. There’s swing early, wanted to utilise that. Everyone is ready to go. Asif Ali not playing, Wasim is playing,” said Pakistan captain Babar Azam during the toss.
