The injury concerns are turning bad to worse for the Indian Cricket Team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. The Rohit Sharma-led side although is currently in Australia and preparing for the event but names are adding to the injury list, which already has Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja in it, the problem might increase of the team.

In what will be another blow to the Indian Cricket Team, it is learned as per the various media reports, pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 due to a back injury. He was a part of reserves along with Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.

Chahar recently returned from the injury during the Zimbabwe tour and since then he has performed reasonably well for his side. He recently played the T20I series against South Africa and was staggering with the ball. His impressive outings even made him in contention to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the main squad.
However, the recent injury completely hampered his chances. Chahar was ruled out of the ODI series due to a stiff back against South Africa with off-spinner Washington Sundar replacing him in the side.

With Deepak Chahar getting ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022, it is learned that the trio of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur will travel to Australia on Thursday (October 13) and will join the squad, which is currently training in Perth ahead of the T20 World Cup.
While Shami has passed the fitness test at NCA after recovering from Covid-19, Siraj and Shardul recently played in the ODI series against South Africa. The duo looked in great touch and form with the ball in the series. It remains to be seen who among these three will replace Jasprit Bumrah in the squad for World Cup.
