Jamshedpur FC played their first season of the Indian Super League last time out, and in the second season, it is expected they are going to be even stronger. They finished fifth in the table and just missed out on playing in the semi-finals. In just their second stint in the premier Indian football tournament, The Red Miners will be looking to make an even bigger impact.
Jamshedpur FC Analysis:
The team has invested heavily in getting crafty attackers, and with the likes of Jerry Mawihmingthanga and Michael Soosairaj, they have strength in depth. Jamshedpur FC will be formidable going forward as the threat from either flank is lethal for their opponents. They also have brought in a former Atletico Madrid manager in Cesar Fernando who has been around the block for a while.
However, the central midfield still seems to be an issue for the team. They still lack a general in the middle of the pitch who can dictate play and also stop attacks. The management also questionably has let go of some important defenders, and the backline looks rather slim.
Coach: Cesar Fernando
Stadium: JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur FC Dream11 fantasy picks:
- Tim Cahill
The Australian may not be the player who will be starting all of the games, but he is bound to make an impact for Jamshedpur FC. Known to be someone who is exceptional in the air, Tim Cahill is regarded as one of the best talents to have come from Australia and play football. He is 38-year-old and might be retiring soon, which can be enough motivation for a player like him to give his all in his first-ever appearance in Indian club football.
- Subrata Pal
Already an established keeper with the Indian national team, Subrata Pal has saved India many times in the past. He is 31-year-old now and is aware of the talent that the country is producing in his department. Pal will be keen to show that he is still one of the best ever to do it for India when it comes to keeping the ball out of the back of the net.
