Asia cup didn’t go India’s way but they still believe in their process and haven’t made any reactionary changes to their world cup squad. There won’t be many experiments going into the world cup and the series against Australia will be a big test for them and can assess where their players stand. Australia are the defending champions in this format and the fact that the world cup is happening in their home this time around, they once again start as favorites.
IND vs AUS- India to win the series 2-1
India will be welcoming their 2 primary pacers in Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel into the squad. They missed them pretty badly in the Asia Cup but they will be playing all the possible games leading upto the world cup for India.

Australia have named Tim David in their squad for the world cup and they will be getting to see how the Singapore born lad fares in the Australian jersey for the first time. Tim David didn’t get a long run with Mumbai Indians in his very first IPL season but he is not an alien to the Indian conditions.
It is going to be a tightly fought 3 match series but the absence of David Warner will make India the favorites to win the series.

Selection dilemma for India
India won’t have the services of Ravindra Jadeja and they will have to decide whether they are willing to gamble with Deepak Hooda at #7 or play Axar Patel who can be a like for like replacement for Ravindra Jadeja.
With Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel returning to the squad, Rohit Sharma will also have to decide between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh. Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn’t been upto the mark in the death overs but he has excellent control with the new ball and a proven customer. Arshdeep Singh has been extraordinary at death overs but not able to control the new ball when swing is available. Since India have Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel to cover for the death overs, they are likely to trust Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of Arshdeep Singh.
