Can Spain cull Markkanen’s shooting prowess?
Lauri Markkanen has been in awesome touch throughout the EuroBasket, he had found his stroke early and has only built more upon the early gains. He has been the only regular scoring option for Finland as the rest of the team has showcased inconsistency. That is why stopping him basically means winning the game. Sasu Salin and Edon Maxhuni have been doing their bits but all in all, it is all about Lauri here. Can the Spanish team defense pull through here?
Spain has a deeper team than Finald and their most consistent player has been Willy Hernangomez, whose low-post play has bailed out the team repeatedly. They made just seven out of 31 triples in the last game and it seems like they are more comfortable with the driving/mid-range game. The defense cab be suspect at times but the offense has some high-yielding options. In the long run, the Spanish team looks still deeper than Finland.
