Mumbai City FC have been one of those sides in the Indian Super League, who have heavily underperformed. It has been difficult for them to live up to the expectations of their fans, but maybe this will the season where they come out of the shadow. The Islanders have only made one playoff in the history of the competition, and representing one of the biggest cities in India should be enough motivation for the players to do a better job in season 5 of ISL.

Mumbai City FC Analysis:

Scoring goals has never been a problem for Mumbai City FC. Indian captain Sunil Chhetri once used to represent this team, and many big-name foreign players in Nicholas Anelka and Diego Forlan too have played for them. They are a brand to which many players get attracted to, hence their transfer activities always make the headlines.

However, it won’t matter how much buzz you create off the pitch, but if you can’t deliver when it really matters, football will be cruel to you. Mumbai City FC once again have made really strong signings this season, in hopes of solving their defensive frailties. A new coach in Jorge Costa has also been brought in, who was the captain of FC Porto in 2004, the team who won the UEFA Champions League under Jose Mourinho.
