Australia Playing 11 for AUS vs ZIM: In a big news development, hosts Australia have named their playing XI for the upcoming first ODI encounter against Zimbabwe scheduled on 28 August, 2022 at the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville. Australia are all set to host Zimbabwe for a short three-match ODI series and both these sides will be taking on each other in a bilateral series after a very long time. All the three AUS vs ZIM ODI matches are scheduled to be played at the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville.

Cricket Australia (CA) have named their playing 11 for the first ODI against Zimbabwe starting on Sunday. Senior players like Steve Smith, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood make their return to the Australia ODI side. However, the exclusion of top-order batsman Marnus Labuschagne comes as a big surprise while both Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green are part of the Aussie playing XI. The likes of Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar and Labuschagne will have to warm the bench for the first ODI against Zimbabwe.

The Australian team management have surprisingly decided to extend their batting depth with all-rounder Cameron Green set to bat at No. 8. It will also be interesting to see Glenn Maxwell’s role and batting position in this Australian ODI side.
