The third ODI between West Indies and India is slated to take place on Wednesday (27th July). Although the visitors have already won the series, but they would be looking to complete the whitewash.

But with one ODI remaining, the question remains about the availability of Ravindra Jadeja for it. The all-rounder ahead of the ODI series was named the vice-captain of the side but the fortunes didn’t favour him as he suffered a knee injury and was ruled out of the first two games.

BCCI stated that the medical team is monitoring Jadeja’s injury and the decision on his availability for the third ODI will be taken later. With just two days remaining for the start of the third game, the all-rounder will likely miss the match.

Although there’s no official confirmation about his availability, but with series already in bag, it is likely that the management will not rush Jadeja into the XI especially with T20 World Cup 2022 also around the corner.

The second ODI between West Indies and India saw the visitors clinch the nail-bitter by 2 wickets and take an unaccessible lead of 2-0 in the three-match series.

After wining the toss and batting first, the hosts had a great outing with the bat on account of Shai Hope’s 115 runs and Nicholas Pooran’s half-century posted a total of 311 runs. There were small contributions from the other batters which helped the hosts go past 300 runs.

After West Indies scored 311 runs, Indian batters chipped in at crucial stages with Shubman Gill (43), Iyer (63) and Deepak Hooda (33) keeping their side in the game. However, in the end, was Akshar Patel (64*), who tonked his maiden ODI half-century and took his team home.
