Richard Morgan Fliehr is the real name of Ric Flair whose birth name is widely believed to be Fred Phillips, but later, he was adopted by a Fliehr family, where he got his new identity. Though Ric was born in Memphis, Tennessee, he spent most of his childhood days in Edina, Minnesota, where he developed an interest in wrestling, football, and other outdoor activities.

With time and practice, Flair found his path and walked on it to become a successful wrestler. In his teenage days, after getting recognization, he trained with a professional wrestler Verne Gagne at AWA.

Career

Ric Flair worked with AWA for almost two years after he left the association for the Mid-Atlantic with Jim Crockett of the National Wrestling League. NWA brought Flair his memorable achievements. The champion beat Dusty Rhodes for his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
