KL Rahul Out of ENG vs IND 5th Test: In a massive breaking news development, India’s current vice-captain KL Rahul will miss the upcoming rescheduled fifth and final Test match against England scheduled to begin from 1 July at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Team India is currently having a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series but the visitors were forced to leave the fifth Test match last year in England following a massive Covid-19 outbreak in their camp. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play as many as 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with a crucial update that KL Rahul will miss the upcoming entire England tour due to his recurring groin injury. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has revealed that Rahul will now be travelling to Germany for further treatment. Earlier the Karnataka batsman was named the vice-captain of the Indian Test team for the fifth Test match against England.
KL Rahul also missed the ongoing home T20I series against South Africa due to the same injury issue. The BCCI selectors will now have to name a new deputy for Test skipper Rohit Sharma.
“That is correct, the board is working on his fitness and he will be going to Germany soon,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah told Cricbuzz on Thursday (June 16).
