Career

Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer who was born on 11 January 1973 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. However, he was raised in Bangalore and started playing cricket at a tender age of 12. Dravid represented Karnataka at the U-15, U-17 and U-19 levels and later went on to make his Ranji Trophy debut in 1991. Five years later in 1996, he made his Test debut for India against England on June 20. In the same year on 3rd April, his ODI debut came against Sri Lanka. Dravid played his lone T20I for India against England on September 6, 2011. The right-handed batter amassed 13,288 Test and 10,889 ODI runs with 36 hundreds in the longest format and 12 in the one-day format.

After retiring from international cricket, Dravid has been a key member in Indian cricket through his role as a coach of the India A and U-19 teams. He has also been the Head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and is presently the head coach of the senior Indian men’s cricket team.
