MS Dhoni is one of the most celebrated names in Indian sports. The former Indian cricketer led Indian Cricket Team to three ICC Trophies including the 2007 ICC World T20, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

National Honors
- MS Dhoni was awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2018, which is India’s third-highest civilian award.
- In 2009, he also received the Padma Shree, which is India’s fourth-highest civilian award.
- In 2007-08 where Dhoni was awarded with the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, which is the highest honor in India given for achievements in sports.
Sporting Honors
With a glorious and highly successful career, Dhoni has undoubtedly achieved several sporting honors.
- Quite early in his international career, Dhoni won the ICC ODI Player of the Year for two consecutive years in 2008 and 2009.
- Dhoni has also been named in the ICC World ODI XI quite a few times in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, where he has also been named captain in 2009 and from 2011-2014.
- Dhoni also made it to the ICC World Test XI in 2009, 2010 and 2013.
- The wicket-keeper batter was also the Castrol Indian Cricketer of the Year in 2011.
- Apart from National and Sporting honors, he has also received other awards such as MTV Youth Icon of the Year in 2006, LG People’s Choice Award in 2013.
- It is unknown to many that the former Indian captain was also awarded an Honorary doctorate degree by De Montfort University in August 2011. In the same year, he also conferred an honorary rank of lieutenant-colonel in the Indian Territorial Army for his contribution to cricket.
Dhoni is presently seen leading the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). He has also led Chennai to four IPL titles. MS Dhoni has had an illustrious career without a doubt. The veteran has represented the country in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is, scoring 4876, 10773 and 1617 runs respectively. Dhoni has also been a big name in the IPL with close to 5000 runs in his career. It goes without saying that a cricketer of his stature has won several awards throughout his career.
