The runners-up of IPL 2021 and two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders are right now going through one of their worst seasons ever. They have played 10 matches this season and have managed to win just 4 amongst those. Can they make it to the playoffs from here on? If yes, how can they do it? Let’s find out.
Can KKR qualify for IPL 2022 Playoffs?
Yes KKR can still qualify for the playoffs despite their poor run so far. If they manage to win their next 4 remaining matches and if some of the results of the other matches go their way, they can make it into the top four. As of now, they have 8 points from 10 matches. In order to qualify, they must win all their remaining matches at a big margin, this will take them to 16 points and will help to push over other teams in terms of net run rate. Apart from that KKR would benefit heavily if all of the below-placed teams like CSK, and MI manage to win their remaining matches at a big margin against the top placed teams like GT, LSG, RCB, and SRH.

Upcoming challenges for KKR in IPL 2022
This is not a new situation for KKR. They have been in a similar situation before. The latest of those was in last year wherein they turned the tables over in the second half of the IPL to end up in runner-up place. They will be backing themselves to do the same this year as well. For that, they have a huge task at hand. First, they will have to overcome the team mentored by their former skipper, Gautam Gambhir (ie. LSG) twice and will have to defeat a strong SRH and MI side as well.

SRH | 14-05-2022 | MCA Stadium, Pune |
LSG | 18-05-2022 | DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai |
So can KKR qualify? With the kind of form that they are in right now, the chances are extremely slim. But you never know. They have done it in the past. Hence you cannot count them out.
