Who won today’s IPL match?: Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals were seen in action in the match 47th of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match went down the wire and it made many go bonkers. But it was the Shreyas Iyer-led side, who after losing 5 games on trot, finally managed a win under belt. They defeated Sanju Samson-led side by 7 wickets to register their fourth win of the season.

Batting first, RR batsman yet again struggled with their timing and lost wickets too at the regular intervals. Skipper Sanju Samson scored half-century to keep his side in the game. A finish by Shimron Hetymer, who scored 25 runs in just 12 balls helped his side post a total of 152 runs on the board. Jos Buttler (22) and Riyan Parag (17) too contributed with the bat whereas Umesh Yadav was was the pick of the bowlers for his side and returned with the figures of 1/24.

Chasing the target, KKR lost both the openers Aaron Finch (4) and Baba Indrajith (150 early but skipper Shreyas Iyer (34) and Nitish Rana (48*) played wonderfully for their 60 runs partnership. Rinku Singh stepped in at the crucial stage for his side and played a fiery knock of 42 runs that ensured a win for KKR after five losses by 7 wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders batman Rinku Singh was awarded Player of the Match in today’s encounter against Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai. The southpaw came to bat when KKR lost skipper Shreyas Iyer. Rinku played one of his best innings in the IPL as he took charge to the RR bowlers and smashed them all over the park. He scored unbeaten 42 runs in just 23 balls with the help of 6 fours and 1 six and ensured win for his side.
