Dinesh Karthik not keeping wickets GT vs RCB: In an important news development, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) premier wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has not taken the field during the run-chase of the today Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) match against Gujarat Titans. The 43rd match of the ongoing T20 tournament is being played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

In a very surprising development, Dinesh Karthik has not taken the field in the second innings for the Royal Challengers Bangalore during the ongoing match against Gujarat Titans. He is reportedly unwell and that is the major reason for not coming out to keep the wickets in the important run-chase. Therefore, in his absence, Anuj Rawat is the RCB wicket keeper as the substitute player.
Incidentally, Karthik did came out to bat in the first innings as the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis elected to bat first, but the wicket-keeper batsman managed to score just 2 runs off 3 balls. The swashbuckling right-hander has scored a total of 218 runs from 10 games at a remarkable strike-rate of close to 200.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Royal Challengers Bangalore did not had the best of starts as they lost the wicket of their skipper Faf du Plessis in just the second over of the match. However, the pair of Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar then got together and batted amazingly well to bail their team out of trouble. The duo registered a brilliant partnership of 99 runs for the second wicket before Patidar got out for an impressive 32-ball 52.

Virat also got back in form scoring his first half-century this season. Towards the end, Glenn Maxwell smashed 33 runs off 18 balls while Mahipal Lomror contributed with a blazing unbeaten cameo of 16 runs off 8 deliveries to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore finish with a fighting total of 170 for 6 in their 20 overs.
