Awesome series

The Mavericks showed a lot of finesse in Games 2 and 3 but the Jazz rolled back into the series finally being able to close a game and 22-18 fourth quarter sealed the deal for them. Perhaps the return of Doncic, who did drop 30 points, took some air out of Brunson’s game who had scored 41 and 31 in Games 2 & 3. This will be an interesting scenario as to how the Mavs make adjustments to the Doncic’s return.

In Game 4, the Jazz collected 13 offensive rebounds and committed just eight turnovers which gave them two more field goal attempts than the Mavericks. The Jazz also had 44 trips to the free-throw line, but only converted 26 of them as Gobert shot 9 of 18 from the line. The Mavericks had another strong three-point game, as they clicked on 15 triples compared to ten by the Jazz.

Jordan Clarkson’s 25 points night was a huge difference-maker as he single-handedly outscored the Mavericks bench. Mitchell continued to struggle from the three-point line but the Jazz got it done on the defensive end limiting the Mavericks to around 43% from the field, although the elite Mavs defense also restricted Jazz to 40.5% but as said above, the rebounding battle pulled them through.

Fantasy scenarios

With Doncic’s return, he becomes the favorite to be rostered in the fantasy lineups. He had a strong game, shot an efficient percentage but the rest of the unit was unable to pull through. Dinwiddie’s value is likely to drop with Doncic’s return while Brunson’s production has also been affected but he remains a strong pick nonetheless. Finney-Smith and Bullock still make for amazing filler players.

Although he has struggled, Donovan Mitchell remains the hot favorite from the Jazz’s side. Rudy Gobert poured in a bunch of fantasy points in the last game while Jordan Clarkson improved his metrics through a strong performance. Bojan Bogdanovic had a so-so night but he is still a strong option considering he has scored 20+ in three of the four games.
