Durant and Kyrie disappear

While Durant didn’t shoot as poorly in Game 3 as he did in Games 1 & 2, he only attempted 11 field goals, had 2 trips to the Free-Throw Line and committed five turnovers, another problem he has had all series long. Things were off for Kyrie for a second game in a row, he made none of his threes and was unable to leave a  deep imprint. Thanks to Brown, the Nets were able to reach a respectable 50% Field Goal but their 18 turnovers were the major reason for the loss.

The Celtics had seven more Field Goal attempts than the Nets and that has to be the story of the game. As stated above, it was the turnover disparity that played the decisive role in the end as Celtics shot way worse from three-point line than the Nets(only 30.8%) but pulled through despite that, it indicates how much they have relied on their defense.

The Celtics built a nine-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, which is a decent one but not a decisive one for sure. However, they did have a handsome lead of 12 with just a couple of minutes to go, so, yeah the six points margin overall is deceptive because Seth Curry made a three for the Nets with a few seconds remaining. Overall  just like the rest of the games, the Nets ended up playing catch-up and failed once again.

Jayson Tatum has been the hottest fantasy pick so far and has been the most high-yielding scorer by some distance. Not only has he been able to pin down rebounds and hand over assists, but he has also been able to rack up a ton of steals. The other major performer has been Jaylen Brown while Smart, Horford, Theis, and Williams have been reliable complementary players.

For the Nets, Bruce Brown has been the best performer in the overall scheme, dropping points, assists, and rebounds. Nic Claxton has been a strong performer while Drummond’s stocks have fallen the deeper the Playoffs have gone. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant still bring a lot of fantasy value but have been underperforming
