MIN vs LAC Dream11: The Western Conference Play-in leg will kick off this game. In this game, the seventh-placed Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the eighth-placed Los Angeles Clippers. The winner of the game seals the seventh seed in the First Round of the Playoffs and takes on the Memphis Grizzlies. On the other hand, the losing team will take on the winner of the game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Timberwolves are one of the best offensive teams in the league and they keep on dazzling with their superb performances. Their defense has improved for good measure and will be tough to beta for the Clippers in this game. Karl Anthony-Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Anthony Edwards form a versatile trio.
On the other hand, the Clippers have been looking much more imposing ever since Paul George is back and with the return of Norman Powell, the team’s offense has seen a much-needed upgrade. George and Powell’s return also bolsters the bench depth but this squad will have to deal with a red-hot offense of Wolves away from home.

Match-ups
The trouble for the Clippers will be containing the spacing created by tremendous shooters like Russell, Anthony-Towns, and Edwards. The thing is that while Russell can deal damage from mid-range, Anthony-Towns and Edwards have strong driving games, so when you come to close out on the three-point line, they can be in a triple-threat situation, well-adept at giving a shot-fake and then going hard at the rim. Thus, the last line of defense needs to be ready and perhaps Ivica Zubac will have his hands full.
The Timberwolves are the fastest paced team and get shots quickly in the shot-clock, but with a perimeter defender like Paul George, they can have trouble advancing the ball at times, this is where both Norman Powell and Robert Covington can be huge helps too. I believe a lineup of Jackson-George-Powell-Covington-Hartenstein/Zubac can be the way forward, considering this lineup has three ball-handlers, three tough defenders, sturdy rebounders, and the team can both engage in the running game and also slow it down.
The Timberwolves are a better three-point shooting team than the Clippers and that is the area that they must tighten on the perimeter. If we talk about all-around players then Edwards and George match up well but George is a better defender even after going into the 30s age-wise. The role of Paul George can’t be stressed enough but last season, Reggie Jackson turned out to be a huge boost in the Playoffs and he can utilize his experience to do so again. Patrick Beverley will play a huge role on the defensive end for the Wolves and Jarred Vanderbilt can provide decent rebounding. However, the Clippers bench has more pieces.
But there is one trump card that the Timberwolves can deploy off the bench, and he is Malik Beasley. Beasley is an elite three-point shooter and for the Clippers, while Luke Kennard brings similar skills, I don’t know from where coach Ty Lue will carve out minutes. Both coaches in Lue for the Clippers and Finch for the Wolves will have to make match-up related decisions time and time and this will be a chess game where we can see some surprising names playing high minutes
Fantasy related tips
Since these are the Playoffs, some players are bound to see fewer minutes than in the Regular Season. If I talk about the main rotation for the Timberwolves, I think it will be composed of Russell-Beverley-Edwards-Vanderbilt-Towns-Beasley-McDaniels sharing major minutes with Russell, Edwards, and Towns playing around 40 minutes. On the other hand, the Clippers can give major minutes to Jackson-George-Morris-Batum-Zubac-Covington-Mann-Powell-Hartenstein with George playing perhaps 40+ minutes.
