CSK Playing 11: CSK’s performance at the auction table was comfortably the worst performance by any team in the auction. They kept picking up the aged players, and unproven materials at this stage with the thought that MS Dhoni could handle any poor bowling attack and produce results like he did in the previous other seasons. Although, Ravindra Jadeja is the official captain of CSK, the squad construction has MS Dhoni written all over it, and it has backfired big time in this season.
Lets take a look at the possible CSK composition for the game against RCB.
CSK vs RCB IPL 2022: Will CSK drop Chris Jordan for Dwaine Pretorius?
The South African all rounder Dwaine Pretorius did no wrong in the given opportunities for CSK but the CSK management decided to trust Chris Jordan who was not great either in the game against Punjab Kings. The move rightly backfired when Chris Jordan was smashed for fun in the game against SRH in CSK’s previous game. MS Dhoni is someone who believes in the process more than the result and the poor thought process of Chris Jordan against SRH might go against him, which would again open the door for Dwaine Pretorius.
CSK brought in Mahesh Theekshana to bolster their poor spin attack but the Sri Lankan couldn’t make an impact in the game versus SRH. He was used as a new ball specialist but SRH batsmen were able to milk him easily and gather risk free runs against him. CSK badly need their openers to give them good starts and they are certainly missing Deepak Chahar who gives excellent control with the new ball in the powerplay. Deepak Chahar is still unavailable as he is under rehabilitation at NCA.
