KKR will be very disappointed with their performance against RCB in their 2nd game of the season but one thing to take into account is that, they are not at their full strength due to the on going series between Australia and Pakistan in which some of KKR’s players are playing. Lets take a look at the composition of the KKR for their 3rd game against PBKS
KKR vs PBKS IPL 2022: Australian to miss out again
One of the most glaring weaknesses for KKR is the lack of ability of their batsmen to play the hard length deliveries. It was evident when RCB exploited that weakness against them. Aaron Finch is a good player of short pitch bowling although he has forgot to bat in the last 2 years or so and he cannot play the inswingers which the opposition will be well aware of.
The Australian captain is leading Australia in Pakistan for the white ball series and will not be available for this game. Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins will be a miss for KKR as CA contracted players will not be available till 6 April.
This is a huge loss for them, as Pat Cummins will not only boost their bowling attack, but also their lower order as the Australian test captain is an excellent hitter of cricket ball. He showed his credentials with the bat in the last season.
Probable KKR Playing 11
Ajinkya Rahane
Venkatesh Iyer
Shreyas Iyer
Nitish Rana
Sam Billings
Sunil Narine
Andre Russell
Sheldon Jackson/Shivam Mavi
Tim Southee
Varun Chakaravarthy
Umesh Yadav
Shivam Mavi was dropped after the first game, and Sheldon Jackson is not adding much value with the bat, KKR can look to play Shivam Mavi and not go in with just 4 bowlers in the game along with Andre Russell.
