When RCB picked Faf du Plessis for 7 crore rupees very early in the auction, all the fans started worrying about their strategy for the auction but after 2 days, RCB came out of the auction room having built the most complete and balanced squad out of all the 10 teams in the competition. It was an auction masterclass by them. Lets take a look at their composition for their first game against Punjab Kings.
PBKS vs RCB: Australian players unavailable
RCB have 3 Australians in their squad namely, Jason Behrendorff, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood and none of them will be available till April 6.
This opens the window for the England’s bowling all rounder David Willey who can be the perfect like for like replacement for Josh Hazlewood. Both their skillset matches and the fact that David Willey brings his floating value with the bat makes him a very solid replacement for Josh Hazlewood.
RCB have Sherfane Rutherford to replace Glenn Maxwell in the middle order. The likes of Wanindu Hasaranga and their captain Faf du Plessis are available from game 1 makes them a very solid team even in the absence of 2 of their first choice players.
The bowling department will have Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel along with David Willey and the spin department will be headed by Wanindu Hasaranga with Mahipal Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmad providing support with their SLA.
