WI vs ENG: In a big news development, England’s premier fast bowler Mark Wood is unlikely to be available for the second Test match against West Indies after suffering an elbow injury during the first Test. The second Test match between hosts Windies team and England is scheduled to begin from 16 March at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Earlier the first game in Antigua ended in a draw and thus, the three-match Test series stands with a 0-0 scoreline.
WI vs ENG: Mark Wood Out of 2nd Test?
Before the start of play on Day 5 of the first Test against West Indies, England speedster Mark Wood sustained an elbow injury after which he could not take the field during the fourth innings. Wood bowled a total of 17 over the first innings having picked up a single wicket of West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite. However, it is now very much likely that the visitors will not risk him for the second Test match while Ollie Robinson is expected to make his return into the England playing 11 on Wednesday.
Ahead of the opening Test match in Antigua, Robinson failed to recover completely from back spasm, but he is likely to attain full fitness for this second game. Apart from the absence of Wood, England will go with an unchanged playing XI for the second Test against West Indies.
