TOR vs BKN Dream11: The NBA season is really long but hey, I am shocked that we have crossed more than 75% of the Regular Season. Surely, time goes fast and as it ticks, it brings its own sort of challenges. In the world of the NBA, getting just a win isn’t enough, you need to keep winning at least 40 times to earn a respectable record. And in a league that is up-tempo as the NBA, isn’t that a tall task? And surely, the Brooklyn Nets have realized that in the last two months and as they square off against Toronto Raptors, they need some break from the goddess of injuries.
The Nets got trounced by 35+ points in their last battle against the Raptors. This pretty much sums up what trajectory they have taken since January. I wonder if Steve Nash even saw this turmoil within a franchise during even his playing days but as a coach, there is no doubt his work has been hectic. As the Nets wait for Simmons and Durant to join Irving, the team has fallen short of the task at hand.
The Raptors have been the opposite of the Nets since January. They have won around 60% of their games since then and this window against the Nets couldn’t have come up at a better time as the team’s fortunes had been slipping lately. The team has some bench-related issues and with Anunoby’s injury, the team’s balance has also been hit.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
Raptors: Some gaps to fill
The Raptors are a classic case of work exhaustion. Their main-five players have logged the heaviest minutes when compared to any other starting five and this is mainly due to lack of wings and guards that can sustain the momentum off the bench. The Raptors didn’t bring any major player during the trade deadline and that shocked me because this team has virtually no cover when they are hit with multiple injuries. Doesn’t playing heavy minutes imply that there can be more chances of injuries to the main players. And we have seen that with the hurt caused to OG Anunoby and also Fred Van Vleet.
Still, there is a lot of promise with the Raptors. With Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam as two Forwards, the small-ball lineup of Raptors get two-way production and with Gary Trent Jr. at the perimeter, the team can stifle sharpshooting guards. Fred Van Vleet also is a major two-way player and the oft-injured Anunoby plays a huge role at both ends too. The five main players are terrific defenders and are also all-around players. Precious Achiuwa brings solid rebounding off the bench but Chris Boucher’s numbers are down compared to last season. The Raptors could have made the push to secure a bye till the First Round but as of now, they are looking at the top seed for the Play-in tournament.
Nets: Hectic period
The Nets have been a rather depressing story this season. James Harden didn’t want to stay here, Kyrie Irving refuses to get vaccinated which has already made it so that there is a hole at the one-guard spot. However, with Kevin Durant’s injury, things have gone completely downhill. He is a two-way superstar and there is no doubt that the Nets effort has been sub-par at best without their premier wing. This has been a cause of concern because it implies that there is a lack of depth. For example, when you look at the Heat, they were winning 60% of their games without two of their best players in Butler and Adebayo. The Nets have lacked such balance for sure.
Acquiring Ben Simmons was huge but it is yet to see when he will make his debut and even if he does, will be ready to cope with the intensity of other squads as the Playoffs will near. Seth Curry and Kyrie Irving is a pairing that I like because Seth can act as the off-the-catch shooter while Irving works his magic. But ultimately, it boils down to when Durant will return. He is one of the best players in the league and with him the defensive is anchored and the offense is plugging. Going through a cold stretch? Give it to KD, he will work something around! But that has been missing from the squad and the situation looks hapless as of now.

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks
Pascal Siakam(TOR)
Points: 08
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 06
Steals: 03
Blocks: 02
Pascal has gone cold in the last five games but overall, he has been one of the most effective big Forwards in the league, supplying all-around talent. He has usually been in 17+ points, 7+ rebounds, and 4+ assists range. He can be selected as Star/Pro Player in the Dream11 NBA scene.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 34-50
Seth Curry(BKN)
Points: 11
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 03
Steals: 01
Curry has done well as the starting guard for the Nets so far but his pairing with Irving will make the guard position more effective for the Nets. The Guard has mostly scored 15+ and dished 5+ assists in his initial Nets days.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 23-35
Scottie Barnes(TOR)
Points: 28
Rebounds: 16
Assists: 04
Steals: 05
Blocks:01
Scottie has put the league on notice after a couple of 28 points performances and he is already a strong defensive player at the wing position. The wing has usually scored in the 13-16 points range while grabbing 6+ rebounds, and notching 1 or more steals regularly.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 32-43
Bruce Brown(BKN)
Points: 14
Rebounds: 06
Assists: 01
Steals: 01
Blocks: 01
Bruce has been a decent contributor at wing but hasn’t been enough to address both defensive and offensive woes. He has been in the 10-15 points and 6-7 rebounds range lately.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 20-30
Gary Trent Jr.(TOR)
Points: 12
Rebounds: 00
Assists: 05
Steals: 05
Although he has struggled a bit on the offensive lately, the pesky Point Guard has been huge for the Raptors to keep the defense going. The Guard has mostly been in the 11-16 points range since February.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 27-40
LaMarcus Aldridge(BKN)
Points: 15
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 01
Blocks: 01
LaMarcus has been decent in the middle for the Nets but he is even more effective when Durant is at the wing. Still, the Center has managed 11-16 points regularly these days
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 20-27
TOR vs BKN DREAM11 LINEUP BALANCERS
- Precious Achiuwa(TOR) had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists in the last game. Big Forward Precious has had a couple of strong games recently. He has usually been in the 6-9 points and 5-9 rebounds range though.
- Malachi Flynn(TOR) had 18 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals in the last game. Absolutely nowhere near what the guard produces, he only got minutes with Fred Van Vleet’s absence.
- Cam Thomas(BKN) had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists in the last game. Young Thomas has a lot of shooting improvements to make but has scored 14 points in most of the games recently.
- Chris Boucher(TOR)had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist in the last contest. Chris’ impact has reduced compared to last season and he has usually been in the 5-8 points and 5-6 rebounds range.
- Goran Dragic(BKN)had 6 points, 5 assists, 1 rebound in the last contest. The veteran guard is playing after a long time so there can be some shooting inconsistencies.
- Nicolas Claxton(BKN) had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block in the last game. Nic has mysteriously disappeared from the lineup despite the lack of options.
- James Johnson(BKN) had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block in the last game. The above stats sum up where the Forward has been figuring lately.
- Patty Mills(BKN) had 3 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound in the last game. Patty’s shooting woes have continued and at this point, he will need some big lift.
