POR vs DEN Dream11: The Western Conference has been highly competitive for most of the years and we keep on witnessing some top-notch battles. There are arguments that various times the Western Conference Finals are like the NBA Finals as major top teams in the league are from the West. There is some truth in this but it doesn’t take away the fact that East teams like Bucks, Cavaliers, and Raptors have also grabbed NBA trophies against the Western champions. So, to dive deep into the Western Conference carnival, let us jump into this game between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets.
The Trail Blazers are at the tenth position, slated to make the Play-in tournament but they are in the midst of a tough schedule right now. Portland has been missing Damian Lillard for many weeks now and with Jusuf Nurkic out, their team balance is in jeopardy. As Pelicans and Spurs come near to them, can they hold out the tenth position?
On the other hand, the Nuggets have been doing a great job of staying afloat without two of their star players but hey, when you have the reigning MVP, you are gonna be a force! With Nikola Jokic as the anchor, the Nuggets have a similar record to Mavericks and a lax schedule can help them even overcome the resolute Mavs.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
Trail Blazers: Tough schedule and depleted unit
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the Trail Blazers are playing short-handed for a long part. Without their leading scorer and playmaker, Damian Lillard, their one-guard position has been a bit thin. But thanks to Anfernee Simons’ rise, they have been able to scrap some wins here and there, keeping themselves seated at the tenth position and in contention for the Play-in tournament. However, they receive a big jolt when they learned that Jusuf Nurkic has been ruled out for more than a month, which has surely compromised an already slim frontline.
Justise Winslow has done well at the big Forward position and he has given some substantial rebounding and scoring, but he is not an assertive player who can bring in wins by himself. Josh Hart has been the best addition during the mid-season trade deadline and he has done a wonderful job of being an all-around guard giving the team more than decent production on both ends of the floor. On the other hand, the team is in tatters at other positions, and their bench is one of the worst in the league right now.
Nuggets: They are highly charged
The Nuggets have played some high-quality basketball since January and they have been heading towards a 60% win mark. Well, when you have a grinding Center like Nikola Jokic, this is not a surprise. Someone who can pincer paint points, shoot from the perimeter, dish superb assists, grab big-time boards, and keep the team rolling. His pairing in the frontcourt with Aaron Gordon certainly helps the matter as Gordon keeps coming up with big nights every now and then, even if he isn’t as consistent of a scorer as Jokic.
Wing Barton has been having some explosive nights too while Monte Morris helps stretch the floor and also provides decent playmaking. The bench can be an issue but Forbes and Hyland have been decent during some games. The team awaits the return of Michael Porter Jr., their defensive anchor, and Jamal Murray, their leading guard, who can score in numerous ways. The Nuggets are in a tight race for the fifth spot against the Mavericks, and if they keep on ticking like currently, they can be a force in the Playoffs with the two aforementioned players.
