1. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was first picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 due to his U-19 exploits and he has never stopped making runs for them ever since. He has the rare ability to score runs at a good rate with traditional shot making thereby eliminating too many risks which is the secret to his consistency over the years. His best season came in 2016 when he cracked a record 5 hundreds in a single season of the IPL.
2. Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan has reinvented himself with the bat in the last couple of years adding quick scoring to his consistency. He has been a steady run-scorer over the years and is a bankable player with the bat for any franchise he plays.
3. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma has won 5 IPL trophies as a captain in the IPL and is also the third-highest run-getter. He first impressed one and all in a finisher role with the Deccan Chargers but has been batting mostly in the top-order for the Mumbai Indians. He hasn’t had an Orange cap winning season so far but has been quite consistent with the bat.
4. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina has been fondly called the Mr. IPL for his run-making prowess in the marquee league. From 2008 to 2018, he crossed the 400 run mark every season and was one of the pivotal reasons for CSK’s success over the years.

5. David Warner
David Warner is the highest-scoring foreign player in the IPL and has the best average and strike rate among the top five. He is also the only batter who has won three Orange Caps in the IPL. Known for his attacking stroke play, running between the wickets, and the ability to hit spin, Warner will be representing Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022.
