Most wickets in IPL – The IPL has been running on successfully for almost 14 years now. Over the seasons, a lot of bowlers have plied their trade in the biggest T20 league in the world.

When the IPL was first introduced, the IPL announced the introduction of the Purple Cap which is to be presented to the bowler with the most wickets every season. A lot of bowlers have won the award over the seasons, but only a select few have managed to perform and pick wickets consistently over the years. 1. Dwayne BravoÂ
Dwayne Bravo is one of the only two bowlers who have won the Purple Cap twice in the IPL. He is renowned for his death bowling skills where wickets fall in clusters with his control over yorkers and a variety of slower balls. He has been instrumental in CSK’s success over the years.
2. Amit Mishra
An attacking legspinner, Amit Mishra is the only bowler in the IPL to have taken three hat-tricks. He is known for his flight and attacking lengths capable of foxing the batters in the air.

3. Piyush Chawla
Piyush Chawla is another legspinner in the list but he is different from Mishra with his usage of the googlies. He has been part of four different franchises in the IPL and while he hasn’t won the Purple Cap yet, he has been consistent with his wicket-taking over the years.
4. Ravichandran Ashwin
An offspinner by craft, R Ashwin first made his IPL debut in 2009 for the Chennai Super Kings. He made his India debut too on the back of a successful IPL season in 2010. He’s quite versatile with the ball being able to both attack and contain batters and has a slew of variations like the carrom ball, backspinner, slider, topspinner, reverse carrom ball, and a lot others in his repertoire.

5. Sunil Narine
The mystery spinner from Trinidad & Tobago, Sunil Narine has been an IPL legend and is a vital cog of the Kolkata Knight Riders setup. He made his IPL debut in 2012 and has been bamboozling batters with his mystery ever since. While his bowling action was called out a couple of times, he has been reinventing himself over the years to stay relevant.
