IND vs WI: In an important news development, India’s duo of Deepak Chahar and Venkatesh Iyer are doubtful for selection in the upcoming 2nd T20I match against West Indies scheduled to be held on 18 February at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Hosts are already leading the three-match T20I series by 1-0 margin after their staggering performance in the first match. India defeated West Indies by 6 wickets in the opening T20I encounter in Kolkata on Wednesday.
IND vs WI: Deepak Chahar, Venkatesh Iyer to miss 2nd T20I?
During the 19th over of the West Indies innings in the 1st T20I, Deepak Chahar got struck on his bowling hand while fielding a brute strike by Kieron Pollard. Chahar left the field after sustaining that injury and did not return to complete his quota of four overs in the match. The right-arm seamer finished with figures of 1 for 34 in his three overs. In another incident, Venkatesh Iyer also got hit on his thumb while fielding near the boundary line. However, Iyer did come onto bat in the chase smashing an unbeaten 24 runs off 13 balls.
Both Deepak Chahar and Venkatesh Iyer will go for scans and thus, they might miss the second T20I game against West Indies on Friday. The Rohit Sharma-led India team has the option of slotting Shardul Thakur and Deepak Hooda as the like-for-like replacements in the playing 11.

India vs West Indies 2nd T20I
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will surely be feeling very much high on confidence after having put up an impressive show both with the bat and ball to hand West Indies a convincing 6-wicket defeat in the first T20I. India have won all of their last 10 international matches under the captaincy of Rohit. On the other hand, the visiting West Indies team finds themselves in a desperate situation at this moment having conceded four defeats in a row in limited-overs matches.
