Speaking during an interview McGrath said that the next target should be 600 wickets. He said that Anderson looked fit enough and had the passion to reach that milestone. The next bowler Anderson can surpass is Anil Kumble. Kumble has 619 wickets to his name. McGrath said that Kumble’s 619 was within range of Anderson. Anderson has the passion and the drive, if he puts in the hard work he can achieve it, McGrath said.
McGrath said that Anderson still had a bit left in the tank and could get 600 wickets and if he wanted. He could also go after the spinners such as Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. For now, McGrath said that Anderson should focus on the 600 wickets mark.
