PHI vs OKC Dream11: NBA trade deadline went and left a deep imprint over the league, obviously influencing the dynamics and the overall picture in terms of the Playoffs contention and even championship odds. Arguably, this season’s trade deadline was more dramatic than last season and the Ben Simmons-James Harden trade surely rocked the league. And as we discuss this game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, what a fitting way to start the discussion.
The 76ers brought in James Harden recently and what a bonanza signing has it been as James also signed into the contract till next season. With Joel Embiid as the enforcer in the middle, the 76ers are now looking like one of the contenders for the title but that is a long way away and let us not forget there are other teams in the Eastern Conference especially in Bucks that have won a championship and have better chemistry.
The Oklahoma City Thunder was quiet at the trade deadline except for bringing in KZ Okpala. The Thunder has been in the rebuilding process, and well, the season has been a struggle for them. Well, the management didn’t make any major moves because it seems like they are focusing on the upcoming draft and want to use the current cap space to get a major signing in.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
76ers: Harden-injected squad
James Harden was brought in and well, isn’t that a big move! Well, that has been related well in the media circles and various fans have been doing rounds about how the 76ers are now a championship squad. Surely, having an all-around threat like Harden changes the complexion of the league as his pairing up with Joel Embiid has now formed the combination of two Super-star level players. It is clear that the James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant trio never got the chance to play together and showcase their strengths but even then I have never believed bringing in three ball-dominant players will leave all parties satisfied.
So, what is going to be the case here? Embiid can be effective playing off the ball as the Center who can dive in and make a difference while also being an effective high-post player. Tobias Harris can play off the ball too while Tyrese Maxey is someone who will need the ball in his hands. However, I think this is a better fit for James Harden as he has been surrounded by some players who can be effective off-the-ball players. The bench still looks a bit short but hey, the 76ers can still make it work with their current talent. Can Harden-Joel garner around 66% of the wins in the upcoming window?
Thunder: Building their way
Unlike the 76ers, the Oklahoma City Thunder are nowhere near contenders and far from that, the team is far removed from the Play-in tournament aspirations. But that is not a surprise since Thunder didn’t bring in major names during the last offseason and the team didn’t make any big moves this season too. What does this imply? The team is content going to the lottery and the squad isn’t looking forward to the offseason. In the next draft, the team will look to bring in some offensive-minded players because that is one area that the Thunder management needs to take into consideration.
Thunder has been playing without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and he is the leading points per game scorer for the team. With him gone, the team has missed a pep in the step on the offensive end despite Luguentz Dort’s recent scoring lift. Meanwhile, Josh Giddey keeps on developing his offensive game and with his already impressive playmaking and rebounding, you know Josh is in for a terrific career. On the other hand, Tre Mann has been given the starting spot but he has ways to go as an offensive player. Darius Bazley has showcased his offensive talent yet again but yes, his offensive efficiency remains a bit low for a big Forward. Aleksej Pokuesevski has been playing well as a young player while Kenrich Williams has had some more than decent impact too. Ty Jerome is a promising player too but yes, Thunder has been misfiring from the field.
