AB de Villiers signs up for PSL 2019

Former South African batsman and skipper AB de Villiers is all set to light up the 2019 edition of the Pakistan Super League after he signed up with the league on Friday, September 07.
de Villiers announced his signing via a video message on his Twitter account, expressing his excitement over joining the league.
“Pakistan Super League has grown into one of the top T20 tournaments in the world and I’ve really enjoyed watching PSL matches in recent years. PSL is a league that has given Pakistan so much to cheer about. I certainly can’t wait and I’ll see you there.” AB on signing the PSL

De Villiers, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket earlier this year brings to the PSL his incredible 360-degree stroke-play as well as a plethora of (11 years) experience of the Indian Premier League where plays alongside Virat Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

His T20I numbers might be modest- an average of 26.12 in 78 T20I, but de Villiers with his amazing stroke-play has over the years lit-up the IPL where he averages nearly 40 (39.53) in 141 games, striking at 150.94. This will be the franchise competition that de Villiers will feature in after plying his trade in the IPL (2008- present) and Caribbean Premier League (2016).
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani welcomed AB on board and expressed that the involvement of de Villiers will prove fruitful for the youngsters.
We are delighted with the signing of de Villiers for Pakistan Super League,” recokned Mani. “He is a modern-day great and he will add immense value to the tournament. His involvement in PSL will also provide great learning opportunities for our youngsters.”
