India’s 60-run defeat in the Southampton Test and the series loss has triggered criticism from all around the corners. First, it was former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly who criticized team management and looked in no mood to stand with the shoddy batting display by Indian batters in the overseas conditions. In an interview with India TV, Dada expressed his thoughts of head coach Ravi Shastri and batting coach Sanjay Bangur being answerable other India will keep losing like this.
Now, it looks like Harbhajan Singh is also not happy with the poor performance of Indian team in overseas conditions. Apart from Virat Kohli, no body else has looked comfortable in front of English bowlers. They are not capable of chasing mere targets and have lost the series despite brilliant performance in bowling.
In a press conference two days before the final test in The Oval, head coach Ravi Shastri showed his disappointment but also stood in defense of his boys by stating that there was no other Indian team that had won so often overseas in the last 15-20 years as the current had done. Shastri here was talking about the three series wins which came against Sri Lanka (twice) and West Indies. The bigger picture is that Indian team has not been able to name a series in SENA countries since 2009. India last won a series in 2009 when they defeated New Zealand by 1-0 in a 3 match series.
However, if we look to Turbanator’s Twitter handle, he can be seen retweeting tweets from a Special Correspondent with Press Trust of India that are as follows-

The Indian coach can neither be a cheer leader nor remain a commentator. India may still win The Oval and we will then hear him singing how close it has been. Point is India have under performed in batting and much of it has to do with how badly they messed up in preparations
