Kuldeep Yadav admits to challenges in Test cricket

Kuldeep Yadav had played three Test matches; the last one was the ill-fated one against England at Lord’s. The tough English conditions and the batting collapse of the top order on India’s side put the left arm spinner under a lot of pressure. This was clearly seen when he bowled nine overs and was still wicketless. He was soon dropped for the 3rd Test match.
Prior to the Test matches, he had done well in Limited over series. Being selected for the Test match he was looking forward to putting on a good performance. All his hopes we shattered due to England’s conditions that are not conducive to spinners.
We have to applaud the manner in which the #England batsmen have played the Indian spinners particularly #KuldeepYadav in the last few games. It's been an improved batting performance and a quick turn around in adapting and application #ENGvIND

Kuldeep Yadav while in Bengaluru playing for India ‘A’ against Australia ‘A’ opened up during an interview about the difficulties he faced in England. He said that one had to change his entire mindset to pay Test as much more patience was required. Since he had been playing white-ball cricket for so long, it was difficult for him to suddenly adjust to the long format. In the first Test he had to focus on line and length, he said, while in white-ball cricket, one could try more variations.

In England, the conditions were such that only one spinner was required. But here in Bengaluru, his presence was more needed. He had also spoken to MSK Prasad and Ravi Shastri before leaving England. Yadav wants to use the matches against Australia ‘A’ to get back into shape for Tests so he can be instrumental when the West Indies come to India.
