Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world. The Indian captain is also believed to be one of the top scorers in the yo-yo test which has become the benchmark for fitness in international cricket. However, Pakistani bowler Hasan Ali has outscored Kohli in the recent yo-yo test he took for the selection in Pakistan’s ODI team for the Asia cup.
Hasan Ali scored 20 in the yo-yo test which was conducted for the Pakistan team on Monday. With this score, Hasan has emerged as the fittest cricketer in the Pakistan squad and has also leapfrogged Kohli in this test.

It is reported that Kohli has a score of 19.1 in the yo-yo test and he is among the highest scorers in this test. However few Indian cricketers too have registered better figures that Kohli. Manish Pandey scored 19.2 while India U-19 player Mayank Dagar has reportedly clocked score of 19.3 in this test.
Another domestic cricketer, Arun Karthik who represents Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the IPL had registered score of 19.2 as well.
Sardar Singh, India’s leading hockey player is believed to be one of the best performers in the yo-yo test. He has registered score of 21.4 which has pushed him a lot ahead of other Indian cricketers.
The yo-yo test has become a benchmark for fitness in sports in the recent times. Every cricket board has set a different mark to consider a player ‘fit’. India has set it to 16.1 while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have set it to 17.4. Countries like South Africa (18.5), New Zealand (19) and England (19) have a pretty high score when compared to the Asian nations.

It is an interesting fact to note that several Indian cricketers such as Ambati Rayadu and Sanju Samson have failed the yo-yo test at some time in their career. Infact this list also includes cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina who are generally regarded as one of the fittest in the Indian cricket circuit.
Among the Pakistani players, Sarfraz Ahmed (18.2) and Shoaib Malik (17.8) finished closer to Hasan Ali. Pakistan has recently announced their squad for the Asia cup and this test was conduced to gauge the fitness of the players for this tournament.
