What’s the story?
Pakistan’s all-rounder Imad Wasim has failed to clear the yo-yo test ahead of the Asia Cup on Monday. A mark of 17.4 was set as a minimum requirement for players to clear the yo-yo test. While fellow mates in Shoaib Malik and Hasan Ali cleared the test with aplomb, the all-rounder missed the mark by just 0.2.
Pakistan has taken to fitness big-time under the regime of Mickey Arthur and with 17 of the eighteen players clearing the test with ease. The number 17.4, however, is significantly lower than it is for the likes of England, Australia and South Africa, but it comfortably beats Team India’s minimum threshold of 16.1. Hasan Ali, who is widely hailed as one of the fittest cricketers going around scored 20 on the yo-yo test, higher than Virat Kohli.
