IPL Auction 2022 Date Revealed? Here’s the update on IPL Start Date

IPL Auction 2022 Date: The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled to be played in India in 2022 is set to witness some massive changes. A big mega auction will take place ahead of the start of the cash-rich tournament. The IPL 2022 season will consist of as many as 10 teams with the addition of Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises. In a noticeable development, all the existing 8 franchises will have to submit their list of retained players by 30 November.
IPL Auction 2022 Date Revealed?
According to the latest media reports, IPL 2022 Mega Auction is all set to take place by the end of December or January first week in 2022. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to take the final call on the IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date. It is also learnt that the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League will start from the first week of April 2022 while the final will be played in the first week of June. The BCCI has already announced that IPL 2022 will witness a total of 74 matches.

IPL 2022 Retention Live Updates
Most of the existing IPL franchises have already revealed some of their retentions ahead of the official announcement scheduled to be broadcasted live on the Star Sports Network and HotStar app from 9:30 PM IST.

As per the recent reports, the big trio of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to be retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI) respectively. Both the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals will retain Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson as their skippers in IPL 2022. On the other hand, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are all set to retain the likes of Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy. It has also been reported that New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson will be the only retention by the Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction.
