Kohli calls Test Cricket ‘the most beautiful’ format
Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who is also the number one Test batsman of the world has expressed his love for the longest format of the game.
Kohli believes that Test format is the most beautiful format of the game and he has also urged the respective cricket boards to take more responsibility for saving Test cricket.
“I think one who really understands the sport and love the sport, understand about Test format and they also understand how exciting it is,” Kohli told Wisden Cricket Monthly in an interview.
“Test cricket is very demanding, and the job satisfaction that you get after doing well in Test cricket is unparalleled,” he added.
I believe it is the most beautiful format of the game. I don’t think it will get compressed to four days or it is going to go somewhere. I think it should not be tinkered with,” Kohli said.

The Indian skipper also was reluctant to accept England cricket board’s new 100-ball format.
“For the people involved in the whole process it will be really exciting but to be honest, I cannot think of one more format,” Kohli said.
“Sometimes, playing so much cricket regularly gets very demanding. I also feel that the commercial aspect of the game is taking over the real quality of cricket. I support the leagues because it gets your competitive juices flowing, and that is exactly what you want as a cricketer. But, I am against any sort of experiment.”
Kohli also pressed on the needs of giving a push to first-class cricket as it would help the cricketers motivated for Test cricket.
“With the T20 format coming in, I think all the boards must treat first-class cricket well. Because when the amenities and standards go up, motivation always stays.”
Virat Kohli led is all set to take on England for the fourth Test at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on August 30.
